GE Lab Control Program
The General Electric Aviation S-400 Sourcing Quality Specification describes a series of provisions to maintain confidence in the proficiency of Certified Materials Test Laboratories (CMTL): Metallic Materials. A program of correlation testing has been established, called the Lab Control Program. The program operation, results and acceptance criteria to oversee both Independent and Embedded metallic materials testing laboratories are subject to GE Aviation oversight.
Annual participation is required for all CMTLs (Submitters) for all test codes for which they are approved.
The Sponsor has chosen laboratories (Providers) to perform referee testing services. All Providers and Submitters interact only through the Coordinator.
Dirats Lab Control Services maintains and administers this program, acting as program Coordinator.
The cost of handling each submittal and performing referee testing is charged to the submitter according to a standard cost for each test code. Reporting and scope for each test code has also been standardized across all Providers.
For security and confidentiality all participants must be GE Aviation approved registered users.
